Organics Recycling for Businesses

The City, in partnership with its commercial waste hauler Valley Vista Services (VVS), offers local businesses a convenient and cost-effective way to divert organic material from the landfill to meet State mandates.
A food scrap collection program is available to businesses, who can now source-separate their food scraps at the point of collection. Every week, VVS collects the food waste and transports it to the Puente Hills  waste-to-energy facility.
Businesses may contact Valley Vista Services at (800) 442-6454 to set up a weekly collection service for organics. For those businesses who subscribe to the food recycling program, the City is offering complimentary indoor organic recycling bins (while supplies last).
There are two other ways that businesses can divert food waste from the landfill:
1. Donations:  Non-perishable food items may be donated to a local food bank. Businesses can visit www.LAFoodBank.org for more information.

2. Self-Hauling: Businesses can request a Limited Collection Permit, under specific circumstances, to self-haul organics to an approved recycling facility.  Please contact us at (909) 839-7015 for more information.
