Spring Cleaning? Donate to the VVA

If your spring cleaning turns up new or gently-used clothing or household goods, the VVA hopes you will donating them. This national nonprofit organization relies heavily on donations to support a variety of programs benefiting veterans and their families. Among the types of items the VVA will pick up from your home at no cost to you are clothing and footwear, household goods, toys, tools, small appliances and electronics. Free Sustainable Gardening Workshop

The City is hosting a free Smart Gardening Composting workshop during its Earth Day and Arbor Celebration scheduled for April 27. The composting workshop will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Air Quality Management District, located at 21865 Copley Drive. It will focus on water-wise gardening and drought tolerant plant selection techniques, and attendees will have a chance to purchase a composting bin at the discounted price of $45 (standard) and $65 (for use with worms).
