Happy New Year, Diamond Bar
I am thrilled to be writing this article as I embark on my sixth term serving as your Mayor. Over the years I have seen Diamond Bar grow and flourish into the city we know and love today. The quality of life our residents and businesses enjoy did not happen by chance but by years of strategic planning. As we continue to think and operate strategically, my focus this year will be on fiscal conservancy - ensuring that as a City we live within our means - the Council and I strive to uphold our goal of being responsible stewards of public resources.
Another focus will be to secure additional funding for the SR 57/60 Confluence. Whether you drive on City streets or the freeway, you experience the impacts this bottleneck has on our commute. We will continue to be diligent in our efforts to enhance mobility and promote economic development in the region.
In case you have not heard, Diamond Bar is kicking off the new year with a comprehensive community wellness initiative, Healthy Diamond Bar, aimed at encouraging and facilitating heathy habits for resident of all ages and fitness levels. Throughout the year and beyond, the City will introduce fun programs and opportunities designed to support individual and family well-being as well as overall community wellness. Join us for our Connect with Rec Event – Barre Workout and Tai Chi on Saturday, January 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. This free event will be held at the Diamond Bar Center, located at 1600 Grand Avenue, and is open to all ages and fitness levels; pre-registration is not required.
As always, the City Council welcomes your comments, concerns, or questions. You can reach me or any other Council Member by calling (909) 839-7010 or by using the links to our email addresses located on the City Council Members page of the City website. We look forward to hearing from you.
