Emergency Preparedness

The safety of our residents and businesses is of the utmost importance. To that end, the City has recently transitioned to a new emergency notification system that enables the City to quickly alert you about a disaster or safety issue. These alerts may be sent to landlines, mobile numbers (voice and text) and email addresses. I encourage every resident and individual who works in Diamond Bar to take a moment to register or update your contact information. Please go to the City website to complete your profile, select a preferred language and contact method.

Another way you can ensure your family is prepared is by creating a family emergency plan. This includes taking different actions such as stockpiling disaster supplies, practicing evacuations, and preparing for earthquakes and other disasters including power outages. Resources are available for your viewing on the City website. Let’s all take the steps we can in order to be proactive in preparing for an emergency.

The City will be holding its annual America Recycles Day event on Saturday, November 3rd from 9am-2pm. Located in the AQMD Parking lot—21865 Copley Drive, stop by and learn how to reduce your environmental footprint and properly dispose of unwanted household items. Residents can take advantage of free document/paper shredding services, safely dispose of e-waste, and participate in the free mulch giveaway. For additional information, contact the City at 909.839.7012 or visit the City website.

As always, the City Council welcomes your comments, concerns, or questions. You can reach me or any other Council Member by calling 909.839.7010 or by using the links to our email addresses located on the City Council Members page of the City website. We look forward to hearing from you!
