Striving for the greatest level of openness and transparency is one of my main priorities on the City Council. To that end, there are continuous efforts to promote and enhance the public’s accessibility to information and encourage public participation in the governing process.
A few noteworthy enhancements that support the Council’s Strategic Plan goal of having an Open, Engaged & Responsive Government include:
- In the Know – a new section on the City website that is dedicated to delivering information to help the community stay up to date on current issues and matters of interest.
- Online Records Library – aimed at making select City records, such as Building Permits, City Council and Commission documents, and financial documents readily assessable to the public via the City website.
- Public Records Request – the City website now offers a portal which allows residents, members of the media, and any other interested individuals to submit, track and receive email notifications of the progress and availability of their requests.
I encourage you to go to the City website and check out the latest enhancements.
On an exciting note, our restaurants are gearing up for Diamond Bar Restaurant Week (DBRW) which is set to take place October 5th – 21st. During the event, residents will have the opportunity to get a taste of our local chefs’ talents and further support the Diamond Bar restaurant community. I encourage you to take advantage of this once a year offering; to view a list of participating restaurants and for additional DBRW details, please visit the dedicated website.
As always, the City Council welcomes your comments, concerns, or questions. You can reach me or any other Council Member by calling 909.839.7010 or by using the links to our email addresses located on the City Council Members page of the City website. We look forward to hearing from you!
