City Seeks Volunteer Award NominationsKnow someone who has made a positive difference in the community this past year? Here is your opportunity to honor them! The City is now accepting nominations for its 2022 Outstanding Volunteer Awards Program, and needs your help in identifying deserving individuals, community organizations, or businesses.
Your nominee(s) can be a family member, friend, neighbor, classmate, or anyone else you have witnessed consistently performing good deeds or acts of kindness. It can also be a community organization or a local business that is giving back to the community.
There are four award categories – Youth (age 17 and younger), Adult (Age 18 and older), Community Organization, and Business. Nominees selected for recognition will be awarded certificates by the City Council and other elected officials on Saturday, December 10 as part of the City’s Winter Snow Fest festivities.
Nominations will be accepted until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 10. The nomination form and additional details are available on the City’s website at https://www.diamondbarca.gov/447/Volunteer-Recognition

Halloween Party Saturday, October 29, 2022 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Pantera Park (near dog park and basketball courts) 738 Pantera Drive, Diamond BarThe event is for kids and pups and features free games for children, recommended for ages 2 to 8, crafts, prizes, photo stations, doggie games, and a doggie costume contest. Trick or treating for all attendees will be available in vendor area featuring local businesses offering pet-related products.

SPORTBALL classes begin this weekend! Do you have a child interested in learning sports like golf, soccer and basketball? Sportball classes are the perfect fit using specific techniques to teach young children the basics of 8 different sports. If your little ones are already kicking the ball around or just wanting to learn something new these classes are a great opportunity to learn sports and socialize with children the same age. Senior Holiday DanceWith the Holiday season approaching don’t forget to snag a hot ticket to the senior holiday event of the year! The Diamond Bar Center is hosting the Senior Holiday Dance on December 15, 2022, 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the Diamond Bar Center. October 25, 2022 Planning Commission MeetingBy a 3-0 vote, the Planning Commission recommended that the City Council adopt a proposed ordinance that clarifies the City’s prohibition of short-term rentals (e.g., Airbnb, VRBO) and prohibits the advertisement of short-term rentals.

Diamond Bar Center Slope Stabilization Project UpdateLast week, the contractor completed the construction of the remaining 19 concrete reinforced caissons (27 total) required by the project. The construction of the concrete reinforced grade beam is currently underway and it is proposed to be completed during the week of October 31, followed by landscaping improvements.

CDBG Area 2 ADA Curb Ramp Project UpdateConstruction continues with 5 ramps fully completed and 5 ramps demolished and ready for concrete to be poured. Public Works staff continues to monitor the project inspecting grades, workmanship, and traffic & safety. Proper traffic control and detour signs for pedestrians are being posted ensuring pedestrians can navigate the neighborhood while the ramps are under construction. The remaining 6 ramps are scheduled for demolition over the next 2 weeks.

Grand Avenue and Golden Springs Drive Intersection Improvement Project UpdateShoring installation and structure excavation for the relocated new golf course tunnel continues to make progress on both sides of the slopes on Grand Avenue, just west of Golden Springs Drive. Shoring will continue for the next couple of weeks.
