DB 4Youth Organization Seeking New MembersHelp make a positive difference in your community by teaming up with friends and peers to create new programs and activities for Diamond Bar.
Gain leadership skills, learn about navigating your way into adulthood, and earn volunteer hours. DB 4Youth is open to students in 8th to12th grades and meets the last Tuesday of every month at the Diamond Bar Center. To participate, registration is required.
This month, members have a few opportunities to interact with the community, like helping operate game booths, contests and handing out prizes at the annual Halloween Party at Pantera Park.

Youth Basketball Registration Now OpenThis 8-week program is designed to teach the skills and fundamentals of basketball to children ages 4-13 in a fun, safe, and recreational environment. The one-hour, once-a-week practices start the second week in January. The program runs through March 11.

Veterans Recognition CeremonyThe City's annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9 at the Diamond Bar Center, located at 1600 Grand Avenue. The special award ceremony will recognize and pay tribute to U.S. military service men and women who reside in Diamond Bar. Along with the ceremony there will be patriotic musical performances and light refreshments. All veterans and their family members and friends are encouraged to attend.

Recreation Classes - Royal Icing BootcampAre you looking to decorate cookies for the holidays for family and friends? This two-day bootcamp is for you! Taking place October 10 and 11, the course will teach you all the skills to make the beautiful treats for any occasion. Day 1 starts with making royal icing. Learn to create various consistencies of icing for different applications, including marbling and 3D. Day 2 learn to make flowers, leaves, and roses and how to use dust and powders. A $15 material fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of class. Space is limited, sign up HERE today!

Halloween Costume Dance for SeniorsDon’t miss out on all of the ghouls and goblins dancing the night away at the Halloween Costume Dance on October 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. Come dressed in your best or a Halloween costume to be entered to win a prize! Stop by the Diamond Bar Center or go ONLINE to purchase your tickets before they sell out. The last day to purchase is Friday, October 21 at 1 p.m.

September 2022 Plan Check and Permit RevenuesThe City issued 175 building permits and received $160,108 in permit and plan check fees in September, a significant increase compared to the previous two Septembers. Last month’s activity closed out the first quarter of the current fiscal year on track to meet or exceed the annual projection.

Diamond Bar Center Slope Stabilization ProjectThe demolition phase of the project began this week that includes prep work for the drilling and installation of reinforced caissons along the perimeter of the slopes.
As a reminder, the Diamond Bar Center will remain OPEN during construction and and a portion of the parking lot will have restricted access due to its use for equipment staging.

Area 1 Residential & Collector Streets Rehabilitation Project UpdateSecond and final paint coating of striping was completed within the residential and Golden Springs Drive areas. For questions regarding the project, call the Public Works Department-Engineering at (909) 839-7040.

Grand Avenue/Golden Springs Drive Intersection Improvement ProjectPhase 1 of the drilling, shoring installation and structure excavation for the relocated new golf course tunnel is currently underway. The new tunnel will be relocated over 400 feet west of Golden Springs Drive along Grand Avenue. Tunnel concrete boxing will be completed by mid-December 2022. Phase 2 will commence in January 2023 and be completed by March 2023. The contractor is working close with traffic control and drilling crews to minimize traffic impacts.
