Crews slurry sealing roadways

Area 1 Residential & Collector Streets Rehabilitation Project Update

The cold mill grinding and paving along Golden Springs Drive, between Brea Canyon Road and Lemon Avenue, was completed during the week of September 12.  Final striping at both Area 1 residential streets and the arterial roadways is tentatively scheduled to begin early next week.

September 13, 2022 Planning Commission Meeting

The Planning Commission conducted three public hearings, summarized below:

  • Extension of time for a new 2,500 square-foot single-family residence at 340 Fern Place – APPROVED 5-0
  • 970 square-foot, second-story addition to a 1,700 square-foot single family residence at 20948 Moonlake Street – APPROVED 5-0
  • Subdivision of the commercial center at the northest corner of Brea Canyon Road and Pathfinder Road (Plaza Diamond Bar) into two parcels – APPROVED 5-0

August 2022 Plan Check and Permit Revenues

The City issued 142 building permits and received $142,847 in permit and plan check fees in August.  These totals include the issuance of a $20,103 permit for the conversion of the former Chuck E. Cheese’s building at 1900 S. Diamond Bar Boulevard into a medical office building, and construction is currently underway.

More Pickleball Coming!

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the new pickleball classes, a few more sessions have been added to the fall season. Learn the fastest-growing sport in America! With a combination of tennis, ping pong, and badminton, all ages and abilities can enjoy this social sport. A IPTPA certified pro will teach you the rules, basic shots, and court fundamentals in a friendly, non-competitive environment. Upcoming Meetings

City Council Meetings Return to AQMD Auditorium

Starting on September 20, City Council meetings will return to being held in person at the the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) auditorium.
 
The return to the AQMD auditorium, located across from City Hall at 21865 Copley Drive, will allow for live telecasts of the meetings on the City’s government access channel on Spectrum Channel 3 and Frontier FiOS Channel 47 as well as live-streamed via the City’s website at www.diamondbarca.gov/agendas.
 
In addition, City Council meetings will continue to be offered in a hybrid format, where council members, staff and members of the public can participate in the meeting by tele/video conference if unable to attend in person. Instructions on how to participate are included on the meeting agendas.
