The evening began with an introductory overview of the Town Center focus area and general information about vision planning and placemaking, followed by attendees working in groups to share their ideas and goals for the development of the area.

Town Center Specific Plan CharretteCommunity members are invited to share their ideas and help shape the creation of Diamond Bar’s first Town Center Specific Plan during a four-and-a-half-day charrette planned for August 22-26 at Diamond Bar City Hall.
This charrette is a participatory design process aimed at giving the community an opportunity to engage directly with the design team, provide feedback, and even put pencil to paper to draw their ideas for how the future town center should be designed.

Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) Hawkwood RoadOn Thursday, July 14, staff hosted a second NTMP meeting for the Hawkwood Road neighborhood in conjunction with the regularly scheduled Traffic and Transportation meeting. At the meeting, neighborhood residents received an overview of traffic calming alternatives and options for a phased approach to installing traffic calming measures. A total of 86 households were invited to attend the hybrid meeting, four (4) of which participated by providing their feedback and traffic concerns to staff and the Traffic & Transportation Commissioners. Based on the traffics data, street geometrics, and resident feedback, staff is preparing a final construction plan to send to the residents for an online survey. If the plans are approved with a 67% majority vote, staff will proceed with the installation of the traffic calming measures in the neighborhood.
