Authorized Residential Curb Address Repainting Underway

A citywide residential curb address repainting effort is currently underway and is expected to continue through the end of summer.

The work is being done by two nonprofits – Canning Hunger and Care for the Children – at no cost to residents. However, they are allowed to request voluntary donations.

Per the City-issued permit, curb address repainting will take place Monday-Saturday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., and donation collections are authorized Monday-Friday 4 - 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 1 - 4 p.m.

Canning Hunger work crews are working on addresses south of Grand Avenue, while those representing Care for the Children are covering the area north of Grand Avenue.
Workers from both nonprofits carry a copy of the City work permit as well as company identification. If approached by an individual asking for a donation for curb painting services, residents are encouraged to ask to see both of these documents.

As a reminder, there is no obligation to pay for unsolicited services – if the individual performing curb address painting services is demanding payment instead of just asking for a donation, or if they cannot produce a copy of the permit and company identification, residents should call the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station at (909) 595-2264.

Questions regarding the curb address painting effort may be directed to Public Works staff at (909) 839-7040 or publicworks@diamondbarca.gov.

Contactless Paper Shredding Event Takes Place This Weekend

Residents looking to safely and securely dispose of confidential or sensitive documents are encouraged to take advantage of a free drive-through, on-site contactless paper-shredding event the City is hosting in June, July and August.

The events are scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays in the South Coast Air Quality Management District parking lot located at 21865 Copley Drive on the following dates:

June 25 | July 23 | August 27

Advanced registration is not required. To prepare for the event, make sure documents are not in binders or sheet protectors, or fastened with rubber bands or binder clips. Staples and paperclips are OK. Make sure to remove plastic bags, plastic file tabs, CDs and other hard items. Place documents in banker-size boxes or bags (maximum two per household) in the trunk or rear of vehicle. Limited to two (2) banker boxes, equivalent to a single 13-gallon plastic trash bag.

When arriving on site, remain in the vehicle and follow staff directions to proceed to the designated paper shredding location where the boxed or bagged documents will be retrieved and shredded while you wait.

For questions, contact the City’s Environmental Services Division at greendb@diamondbarca.gov or (909) 839-7015.
