Pavement Management System UpdateThe City is in the process of updating its Pavement Management System. This system provides the tools to plan and schedule pavement maintenance and rehabilitation based on existing conditions and engineering analysis. NCE was selected as the consultant to perform the update through a Request for Proposals process.
The first step is to survey every City-owned/maintained roadway to determine its condition. The automated survey uses the vehicle shown below which is driven by two certified technicians to scan the roadway surface for defects. The vehicle began driving through the City on Monday, April 11 and completed the citywide survey on Thursday, April 14.
The next step is for the consultants to quality check the data and prepare a pavement management report for the City’s review.
