Return of In-Person Senior Programs

Over the next few weeks, in-person senior programs will be returning to Diamond Bar facilities with current COVID-19 safety guidelines in place.

  • Tuesday, February 22 – Mt. San Antonio Older Adults Classes will commence as scheduled in the Winter/Spring Recreation Guide
  • Wednesday, March 2 – Reintroduction of pre-registered City programs; Talk with the Attorney, Senior Talks, Dances, Excursions, etc.
  • Monday, March 7 – Reintroduction of senior club drop-in programs. Each club will contact its members with return dates and safety plans.

Recreation Classes – Basics in Watercolor

Learn to paint using watercolor! Students ages 5-19 will explore various watercolor techniques, color mixing, color matching, drawing and painting. Each student will complete different paintings and work at their own pace. Students must provide their own 9"X12" watercolor pad (Strathmore). A new session begins March 2. Wednesday Walkers Receive Free COVID-19 Kits

Local seniors are excited to be back meeting weekly for social walks at city parks. This past week, participants received a free at-home COVID-19 antigen test, courtesy of a recent donation by Supervisor Hilda Solis. This month the group is meeting at Pantera Park at 9 a.m. for light stretches, a stroll around the park and light refreshments. To join, click HERE.

Grand Avenue / Golden Springs Drive Intersection Improvement Project

The installation of the custom cast iron tree grates along the new retaining wall in front of the golf course parking lot is currently underway. Shoring installation continues on the westside of the project in preparation for the jacking pit operation and the installation of the new 120-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP). SCE Vault Repair on El Encino Drive

International Line Builders, contractor for Southern California Edison, started work on Thursday, February 17 to repair a sinking SCE vault on El Encino Drive between Meadow Falls Drive and Prospect Valley Drive. Contractors are excavating within the asphalt and sidewalk surrounding the vault to compact the subsurface base materials that support the vault structure. Completion of all construction activity is anticipated the week of February 28 or earlier. Photo depicts the contractors actively excavating in the curb and gutter adjacent to the SCE vault.

Adopted resolution of intent for the City’s transition from at-large to by-district elections and approved consulting services agreement with Redistricting Partners, Inc. to assist with creation of city voting district maps.

City Council Meeting Recap for February 15, 2022


Approved a resolution authorizing submittal of application(s) for all CalRecycle grant and payment programs in support of eligible City recycling programs.

Approved the second amendment to the consultant services agreement with Schafer Consulting for as-needed support of the City’s Finance Enterprise Resource Planning System through December 31, 2022.

Confirmed City Council appointment of Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Traffic and Transportation Commissioners for two-year terms beginning March 1, 2022.
