Caltrans Planning Weekend Closures of Northbound State Route 57Caltrans contractors are scheduled to conduct full and single-lane closures this weekend on northbound State Route 57 (SR-57), from Tonner Canyon Road to Los Angeles/Orange County line, as part of a $98.9 million pavement replacement project that is anticipated to be completed in late 2023. The closures will take place Friday, January 28 through Monday, January 31, weather permitting, as follows: Full closure of northbound SR-57 from Tonner Canyon Road to Los Angeles/Orange County line Friday, January 28 from 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m. and again Sunday, January 30 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Closure of northbound SR-57 right lane from Tonner Canyon Road to Los Angeles/Orange County line Saturday, January 29 through Sunday, January 30 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Residents and businesses located near the freeway can anticipate noise, vibrations, and dust associated with construction activities. Motorists are strongly advised to use alternate routes or plan for delays and proceed with caution through the work zone. Detours will be posted in advance, and motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/. This project is funded by Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

Mandatory Water Use Restrictions In EffectIn response to the state's severe water supply challenges, the Walnut Valley Water District (WVWD) declared a Level 2 Water Shortage on January 18, 2022. Under this Level 2 declaration, Diamond Bar residents are required to take specific actions to reduce water consumption by 20 percent. These actions include: - Watering or irrigating lawns or landscapes only three days per week.
- Repairing any private property water leaks within 72 hours of notification by WVWD.
- Not watering between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Not watering during and for 48 hours after rainfall.
- Not watering landscape or using water that results in runoff that flows onto streets, driveways, and sidewalks, or into gutters.
- Not washing any hard surfaces such as sidewalks, walkways, driveways, buildings, structures, parking areas/lots, or patios using water, except for health and safety needs.
- Not washing vehicles at home unless using a bucket or hand-held hose equipped with a shut-off nozzle.
- Not filling or refilling a residential swimming pool with a quantity of water that exceeds one foot in depth.
- Not operating an ornamental fountain or other decorative water feature unless it uses re-circulated water.

Youth Basketball Moves OutdoorsIn response to the ongoing COVID-19 surge, additional safety modifications were made to the City’s Youth Basketball program, including moving the program outdoors. Teams will now be playing at the Pantera Park basketball courts, with games and practices taking place on Saturdays.

Youth Soccer Season UnderwayA new soccer season begins January 29! This season’s program for ages 2-11 is being offered Youth Evolution Soccer, which uses simple instruction, fun games and team interaction to teach children soccer fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shot technique, and teamwork. There are still spots available for the second session that starts April 2. Click here to register.

Grand Avenue / Golden Springs Drive Intersection Improvement ProjectThis key project is advancing well with the recent completion of a concrete pour for the new curb and gutter, and catch basins along Golden Springs Drive in front of the new retaining wall. Shoring installation is currently underway on the westside of the project in preparation for the jacking pit operation and the installation of the new 120-inch reinforced concrete pipe. Jacking operations are expected by mid-February 2022. Depicted in the picture are the new curb, gutter and catch basins.

Emergency Water Main RepairEarlier this week, a Walnut Valley Water District contractor performed an emergency repair of a leaking water main on Cholame Drive. Construction activity has been completed and the final asphalt restoration will be scheduled for a later date. The photo depicts the contractors performing the repair by trenching in the asphalt to access the leaking water main.
