LA County Mobile HHW Collection

The County’s Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste (HHW/E-Waste) collection events are back. The next event takes place this Saturday, December 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at John A Rowland High School, 2000 South Otterbain Avenue, Rowland Heights, rain or shine.

Protecting public health and the environment remains the County's highest priority. Individuals planning on participating should be aware of the following COVID-19 safety precautions in place:

Attendees are required to wear a face covering at all times.
Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicle with the windows closed.
LA County event staff will only remove household hazardous and electronic waste from vehicle trunks and/or pick-up beds.
Please have your items ready in a box/disposable container.

Free Curbside Christmas Tree Recycling

Waste Management offers Diamond Bar customers a free curbside service to recycle Christmas trees. This service occurs for three consecutive weeks beginning the week of December 26through January 9 on the regularly scheduled pickup day.

General best practices to prepare your tree:

Remove all of the ornaments, tinsel and lights from the tree.
Cut the tree into 4-foot portions for easy curbside pickup.

Free Recycling for Ink Cartridges

According to The Energy Collective Group, more than 375 million empty cartridges are thrown out every year that is over a million cartridges a day that end up in landfills. For a print cartridge to fully decompose in a landfill site it can take up to 1000 years. These cartridges can leach toxins into the soil and ground water affecting agriculture, livestock, and wildlife.

Planet Green, a leader in U.S. remanufactured inkjet cartridges has launched a free mail-in ink cartridge recycling program. The new DoorStepInk Recycle program provides individuals with a free USPS mailing label to recycle their used inkjet cartridges from their home or office.

Residents are able to recycle ink cartridges in three easy steps:

Step 1: Visit the dedicated website www.doorstepinkrecycle.com

Step 2: Fill out the online form to receive a postage paid label via email.

Step 3: Affix the label to any box, and send back the cartridges to the Energy Collective Group.
