School Zone Traffic Safety Improvements CompletedThe City’s Public Works Department and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church school staff worked together to enhance traffic safety along Golden Springs.
After several field assessments by Public Works staff, it was determined that improved signage and updated crosswalk striping would improve safety and increase driver awareness on Golden Springs leading up to and immediately adjacent to Mt. Calvary and Lorbeer Middle School.

On Wednesday, November 24, staff implemented the first phase of improvements which included repainting and re-aligning of the existing crosswalk on Golden Springs Drive at Prospectors Road. The updated alignment is consistent with the latest Public Works Standards. And changing the color from white to yellow improves driver visibility and awareness and is consistent with the California Vehicle Code for crosswalks within a school zone. The second phase of improvements will include updated School Zone signage along Golden Springs Drive.
