Learn How to Paint Using Acrylics

Recreation Classes - Fine Art Acrylic Painting
Sign up today for the next session of Ray Tucker’s Fine Art Acrylic Painting class. Learn the basics of painting with acrylics including techniques, mediums and tools while creating a series of paintings. No experience required. Students furnish their own supplies (list provided at first meeting). Classes run Wednesdays, December 1- 22 from 12:30-3:30pm at $110 for residents and $115 for non-residents. Register online here.

Kinder Skills Students Learn about Public Works Department

This week, Kinder Skills students welcomed a special guest speaker, Christopher Gonzales from the City's Public Works Department. Chris spoke to the class about all the essential maintenance work and projects the department is responsible for throughout the city.

Sign up for Youth Basketball

Registration continues for the following divisions: 4-5 year old, 10-11 year old, and 12-13 year old. Waitlists are available for the 6-7 and 8-9-year-old divisions. Spots are limited. The Youth Basketball program takes place from January 22 – March 12, 2022. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach, please complete the volunteer application form.

Stay Active and Have Fun - Join a Senior Citizen Club

There are five senior citizen clubs in Diamond Bar and each provides a variety of activities geared for older adults. Each is privately run through board memberships, to join contact group directly. 

Evergreen Seniors meet at the Diamond Bar Center. Activities include: karaoke, mahjong, gardening and more. For more information visit www.diamondbarevergreen.com


Diamond Age Seniors meet at the Heritage Park Community Center on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Activities include: ballroom dance, line dance, crochet and more. For more information call (909) 510-3883.

Diamond Bar Senior Citizens Club meet at the Diamond Bar Center on Mondays. Activities include: luncheons, day and extended trips and bingo. For more information, stop by their meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Mondays.

Sunshine Seniors meet at the Diamond Bar Center. Activities include: yoga, Zumba and private evening events. For more information visit http://dbsunshineseniors.com/

Super Diamond Age Seniors meet at the Heritage Park Community Center on Tuesdays and Fridays. Activities include: folk dancing, tai-chi, karaoke and more. For more information call (951) 751-1888.

Public Works Department

Southern California Edison Utility Pole Replacement and Maintenance on Prospectors Drive

Public Works issued an encroachment permit to Henkels & McCoy, contractor for Southern California Edison, for the removal and replacement of an SCE utility pole on Prospectors Drive. The utility pole replacement took place on Tuesday, November 16 and it was an all-day operation. In addition, SCE’s contractors continue to replace overhead wiring and maintain other utility poles in the same residential area near Prospectors Road and Beaverhead Drive. Public Works staff inspected the traffic control operations to ensure the safety of the contractor’s crews and the passing traffic, and also coordinated with the contractor to ensure that all nearby residents received an advanced notification of this scheduled work.
