Used Oil Filter Exchange and Used Oil Kit GiveawayOn November 6, the City conducted its first used oil filter exchange at Autozone, located at 303 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. Participants were allowed to bring up to two used oil filters to receive new filters, dispose of used oil and receive used oil recycling kits.
Funded by CalRecycle, the event collected over 40 used oil filters. Filters are considered hazardous waste and are banned from landfills, however they are completely recyclable. Participation in the filter exchange program helps keep hazardous waste out of landfills and recycle used filters to re-use the steel materials.
