Los Angeles County is preparing to launch an Emergency Meal Program that will pay qualifying restaurants to provide home-delivered meals to seniors.
The County’s program coincides with the State’s “Great Plates Delivered” program created on April 24, 2020 to help seniors and others at high risk from COVID-19 to receive three nutritious meals a day while helping businesses generate revenue during the COVID-19 crisis.
To qualify to participate in the County’s program, local restaurants must not be participating in another state or federal meal service program, and must be able to source their ingredients locally, and meet volume, nutritional standards and cultural needs.
The County is still developing program guidelines but expects to have them finalized in the next few days. Restaurants interested in participating can review eligibility information and sign up to receive more information by completing a simple form available at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfAgY41RTzypDZP1a0JBv1Z0rCn1BVB0XknSuFsLoUsL0HqTA/viewform.
