Keeping Diamond Bar beautiful and safe have been my main goals, not just as Mayor, but as a long-term resident like many of you. That’s why I am proud to announce that as we safely starting to reopen our community, we do so with safety and social distancing at the center of keeping our community and each other safe.
Starting May 1, the City will open up nominations for a new Good Neighbor Award, where the City is asking the community to help recognize and honor those that have demonstrated acts of outstanding service during the past year. Nominations will be accepted May 1 to August 3, with information on the City’s website at www.diamondbarca.gov/specialevents.
I am also tremendously excited to announce the City aims to have a limited Concerts in the Park series this July, should outdoor activities be allowed under the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. While tentative, it is our goal to provide safe and enjoyable outdoor activities to the community. For additional information on special events visit the City website or contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (909) 839-7070.
While on the topic of reopening, I would like to communicate my appreciation to each of you as we awaited the replacement of the outdoor postal boxes at the Diamond Bar Post Office. This was no small feat, and I appreciate the assistance of Representative Kim and her staff in coordinating the improvements at the Post Office, including the goal of improving the landscaping and signage at the Post Office.
