Fifth grade students who live or go to school in Diamond Bar and enjoy creating art and care about the environment are encouraged to participate in the City's second annual Arbor Day Poster Contest.
Artwork must be hand-drawn on letter-size paper (8 1/2 x 11 inch) and depict this year's contest theme - "Trees are Terrific: For our Health and Happiness." It can be in color or black and white, and created with crayon, colored pencil, marker, watercolor or any other art medium. Glue, stickers, and glitter are not allowed.
Entries will be judged on creativity, style, and how well they reflect the contest theme, and first, second and third place winners will be selected. All three wining artworks will be showcased, and the artists will be awarded gift cards during the City's Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration taking place Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Coast Air Quality Management District parking lot, 21865 Copley Drive.
Submissions are due by Friday, April 13, and may be dropped off at, or mailed to, Diamond Bar City Hall located at 21810 Copley Drive. A completed entry form must be affixed to the back of the artwork.
