In summer 2016, the City initiated a multi-year effort to comprehensively update the Diamond Bar General Plan that was adopted in 1995.
This Plan is the guide for the future social, physical, and economic development of the city, and the basis for land use decision-making used by the Diamond Bar City Council and Planning Commission.
Every City and County in California is required by State law to develop and adopt a General Plan and revisit it approximately every 20 to 25 years to ensure it remains relevant and embodies the community’s values and vision for the future.
The update process involves eight key stages, with opportunities for community input and involvement at each stage. It is anticipated that the General Plan Update and an accompanying Environmental Impact Report will be completed by late 2019.
