If you are putting off critical home renovations or repairs because of financial straits, the City's Home Improvement Program may be the answer.
This program offers zero-percent interest-deferred loans of up to $20,000 to qualified low-to moderate-income individuals or families. To qualify for the loan, the applicant must be the homeowner, live in the property, and meet the income criteria. Also, the property must be a single-family detached dwelling unit.
Eligible improvements include structural repairs and modifications; rear or side yard slope landscaping for erosion control and stability; repair of plumbing/sewer pipes and fixtures; hazardous property clean-up; roofing repair or replacement; asbestos testing and abatement; accessibility modifications; installation of deadbolt locks or doors, windows or screens; energy conservation; and purchase and replacement of water heaters.
Applications are on a first-come, first-served basis until allocated funding is exhausted. For more information, call the City’s Community Development Department at 909.839.7030.
