Street Rehabilitation Project to Start May 2022
Nearly 19 miles of road within two residential areas and a more than half-mile stretch of Golden Springs Drive are scheduled for pavement work and other improvements as part of the City’s street rehabilitation program.
One of the residential areas programmed for work is located west of Diamond Bar Boulevard, east of Grand Avenue, south of northern city limits and north of the Diamond Bar Boulevard/Grand Avenue intersection, and the other is located south of this intersection, east of Diamond Bar Boulevard, west of Grand Avenue, and north of Country Estates community. These areas will receive slurry seal and chip seal treatments to fi x cracks and ruts, and extend the overall service life of the streets, and curb ramp updates to improve pedestrian access and meet current accessibility standards.
On Golden Springs Drive, work will take place between Brea Canyon Road and Lemon Avenue, and will also include pavement repairs and maintenance treatments and curb ramp improvements, as well as restriping and signing to create improved bicycle lanes.
Engineering design and plans for this project were completed last month, and work is scheduled to begin in late May and be completed in August to coincide with the end and start of school years in an effort to minimize adverse effects in areas surrounding schools.
Public notices will be sent out to all affected residents and businesses well in advance of the construction start date.
