[ARCHIVED] City to Test its Emergency Notification System

City to Test its Emergency Notification System

As part of its emergency preparedness efforts, the City is conducting a quarterly test of its notification system, AlertSense, on Friday, April 29.

The test will consist of the City sending out a message by text, email or voice recording to everyone currently registered to receive emergency alerts. In the event of an actual emergency or public safety threat, the message will share information about the situation and instructions on how to stay safe, if applicable.

Aside from quarterly tests, the City reserves the use of AlertSense for critical incidents that pose a serious threat to health, safety and property such as an earthquake, fire, or severe weather. The system is not used for routine communications.

Everyone who lives or works in Diamond Bar is encouraged to register for AlertSense. Notifications can be requested as voice messages, emails or texts.

For more information, visitwww.diamondbarca.govemergencyalerts. Individuals without internet access can get assistance by contacting the City’s Public Information Division at info@diamondbarca.gov or (909) 839-7055.
