Applications are now being accepted from qualified individuals interested in being considered for appointment to an open seat on the Diamond Bar City Council.

This seat was vacated by Carol Herrera, who resigned her position effective December 20, 2019 after having served on the City Council for more 24 years, which included six terms as mayor. Her letter of resignation cited her desire to spend more time with her family.

The individual appointed to this seat will serve for the balance of former Council Member Herrera’s term that ends the first City Council meeting of December 2020 when it is expected the results of the November 3, 2020 election will be certified. 

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a United States citizen, and reside and be registered to vote in the City of Diamond Bar. In order to be considered, applications must be received by the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 20. They must be mailed or delivered to City of Diamond Bar, Attn: Kristina Santana, City Clerk, 21810 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, CA 91765

City Council is expected to hold a special meeting the week of January 27 to conduct interviews with all applicants qualified to hold office, and confirm the appointment at its regular meeting of February 4.
