Home Repair Loans

Home Improvement Loan Program

If your home needs important repairs or improvements but you do not have the cash reserves to pay for the work, you may qualify for a zero-interest deferred loan of up to $20,000 available through the City's Home Improvement Program.

This federally-funded loan program is aimed at helping qualifying Diamond Bar homeowners finance a variety of structural, plumbing, heating, electrical, energy conservation, and health and safety-related projects.

Eligible improvements include:

  • Installation of HVAC systems, doors, windows, screens, deadbolt locks and smoke detectors.
  • Replacement of garage doors, roofing materials and water heaters.
  • Testing, treatment and abatement of lead-based paint, asbestos and termite.
  • Access modifications for individuals with disabilities.

To qualify, the property where the repairs will be made must be a single-family detached house situated in Diamond Bar, and the applicant must own and live in the property and have an annual household income that that does not exceed the low- or moderate-income limits set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

For more information or to receive a program brochure and application materials, contact the City’s Community Development Department at (909) 839-7030.
