If you have any obsolete electronics, unwanted textiles and unneeded confidential documents cluttering up your home, the City’s annual America Recycles Day event is your chance to get rid of them responsibly and free of cost.
The event will be held Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) located at 21865 Copley Drive.
Other things families can do at the event are collect free garden mulch to take home, visit with more than a dozen exhibitors with resources and tips to facilitate a greener lifestyle, check out a display of electronic vehicles, and make fun arts and crafts with a recycling theme. There will also be a food truck and plenty of giveaways.
Also as part of this event, the City is having a poster contest to raise awareness about the importance of reducing and reusing. The contest is open to all fifth graders who live or go to school in Diamond Bar. Entries are being accepted until 4 p.m. on Friday, October 19. Certificates of recognition and gift cards will be awarded on the day of event to the first, second and third place winners.
Additional details about the event and poster contest are available online or by contacting the City’s Environmental Services Division at (909) 839-7012 or [email protected]
