Properly Disposing of Leftover Paint

Paint Brush Swept Over a Wooden Panel House

Getting rid of unwanted leftover paint and paint products is easy and convenient thanks to a statewide non-profit program.

Known as PaintCare, the program assigns various paint retailers to serve as official drop-off sites for house paint and primers, stains, sealers and clear coating. Products must be in their original container (no larger than 5 gallons in size) with a proper label and secure lid. Items not accepted include spray paint, art/craft paint, and paint additives.

The nearest PaintCare site is Sherwin-Williams located at 1165 Wright Way located in the City of Industry. Paint is accepted during its regular business hours of Monday – Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Calling 909-598-5504 before you visit is recommended to confirm that the store can accept your amount of paint. For more information, visit www.paintcare.org.
