[ARCHIVED] Streetlight Pole Replacement Project


Southern California Edison (SCE) work crews and approved contractors are replacing old steel streetlights with new concrete poles and light fixtures in several neighborhoods throughout the north, south and west parts of the city. A total of 600 poles are scheduled for the upgrade.

The $4.3 million project began in mid-June and is scheduled to be completed  in mid-July, is being funded entirely by SCE. It is part of a larger, multi-year project Edison is undertaking to upgrade more than 100,000 of its power poles throughout the state so that thye meet current safety and reliability standards set by the California Public Utilities Commission.

Although Edison does not anticipate power loss as a result of its work, it will be notifying impacte4d residents and business owners in advance of work in commencing in their area.
