The City is planning streetscape improvements on Diamond Bar Boulevard to enhance the look and function of the medians, crosswalks, and sidewalks between the 60 Freeway and Golden Springs Drive.
Plantings, furnishings, colored concrete pavings, lighting as well as monument signs and decorative accents that both add visual interest and pay tribute to the area's ranching heritage are among the planned improvements.
Diamond Bar Boulevard, between the Pomona (SR-60) Freeway and Golden Springs Drive
This project is currently in the early design phase, with construction anticipated to begin in 2018 and continue into 2019.
This project is part of the Diamond Bar City Council's larger, long-term plan to invest in streetscape enhancement projects - as funds and/or opportunities arise - at prominent locations around town, including entry points and key areas along major thoroughfares, with the ultimate goal of creating a distinctive, cohesive and attractive identity for the city that instills a sense of pride and belonging in community members and provides a sense of arrival for place for visitors.
Improvements to the median strip will include swales - partly rock lined, partly vegetated - designed to capture, convey, filter and infiltrate storm water runoff.
