The City provides a variety of athletic opportunities for the youth of Diamond Bar. These athletic programs are designed to build self-esteem and teach the basic fundamentals of the sport in a safe and positive environment. Using the model of Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM), children have the opportunity to make friends, develop sportsmanship, learn how to compete and cooperate, cultivate leadership skills, be physically fit, and develop a positive self-concept in an enjoyable recreation environment.
To support this high level of positive sportsmanship, the Diamond Bar City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission has approved a City-wide Parent's Code of Ethics which is signed by all parents prior to children participating in the program. This form serves as a reminder that the programs are built around the needs and desires of a developing child.
Designed for children ages 3 to 8, the program offers an instructional and recreational opportunity for boys and girls in a fun atmosphere. Practices are held 30 minutes prior to each game on Saturdays, beginning in March and continuing through June, at Mount Calvary Lutheran School, 23300 Golden Springs Drive.
This indoor co-ed basketball league is designed to teach and enhance basketball knowledge and skills in a recreational and fun atmosphere for children ages 4-13. Games are played on Saturdays. Skills day for participants ages 6 and older will take place the first week of January.
