Public Works is responsible for keeping City roads and rights-of-way free of overgrown weeds, brush, and debris. Throughout the year, they perform routine maintenance to clean debris and trash, remove weeds, and prune brush to ensure public access, safety, and cleanliness. All control methods are safe for citizens and the environment.
Neighborhood Improvement
The City's Neighborhood Improvement Officers also work with the Los Angeles County Fire Department to enforce weed and sanitation ordinances. This may require debris or underbrush on private property, but in public view, to be cleared, and high grass or weeds be cut to a reasonable level. To report private property that is in need of weed, brush, or debris control, please send an email to our Neighborhood Improvement Division.
