Illegal dumping is a serious, chronic problem in communities everywhere. It is the disposal or abandonment of materials such as appliances, furniture, scrap tires, and construction waste in unauthorized places around the city, typically public sidewalks, empty lots, and parking lots. Besides being unsightly, illegal dumping also poses a health and safety hazard.
