- Commercial Organics Recycling - AB 1826
AB 1826 became law on January 1, 2016. It requires businesses and multi-family complexes that generate two or more cubic
yards of combined solid waste, recyclables, and organics per week to separate and recycle their organic waste.
Designate Space for your Bins - All food scraps and food soiled paper must be kept separate from trash and placed in the designated organic recycling bin. The bin area must include signage marking what to dispose in which bin.
Order your Bins - The type and amount of organic recycling bins/containers you will need depends on the quantity of food generated by your employees and/or customers.
