by Mayor Jimmy Lin
Veterans Day is a special time to recognize the selfless and dignified duty of our service members. To commemorate our veterans, the City will be hosting its annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Diamond Bar Center from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. In addition to an awards ceremony, there will be a patriotic musical performance by South Pointe Middle School Band, and light refreshments. I encourage you to join us in celebrating our local veterans!
As you drive throughout our beautiful City you may notice the Armed Forces Banners recognizing Diamond Bar’s military personnel. This program is yet another way for the City to acknowledge our active duty personnel. To learn more please visit the City’s Armed Forces Banner Program web page at www..
In an effort to engage our youth, Diamond Bar teens will have the unique opportunity to participate in the inaugural Youth in Government event on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Teens will become familiarized with the inner workings of local government and how to become engaged and active civic participants. This event will include presentations, exercises and opportunities for questions and answers. For more information or to reserve a seat, contact the City Manager’s Office at 909.839.7013 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
To conclude, I would like to thank everyone that contributed to the success of Diamond Bar Restaurant Week, with a total of 20 restaurants offering pre-fix menus or free items from October 6-20th. The positive community feedback included a preference for the extended two week event and an overall increased awareness of the many dining options in the City.
As always, the City Council welcomes your comments, concerns, or questions. You can reach me or any other council member by calling 909.839.7010 or by using the links to our email addresses located on the “Council Members” page of the City website at www.diamondbarca.gov.
