America Recycles Day

(Diamond Bar, CA, October 16, 2017) – The City of Diamond Bar is hosting its annual America Recycles Day Celebration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4 in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) parking lot. Eventgoers will have an opportunity to do the following:

Donate: Bring clothing, footwear, and household textiles (towels, bedding, table linens, and curtains) that you do not need or want anymore.

Dispose: Get rid of e-waste and confidential documents. Examples of e-waste (short for electronic waste) are outdated or obsolete appliances or electronic devices such as television sets, computers, keyboards, printers, cellphones, radios, and hair dryers. Confidential documents include old tax forms, financial statements, and medical records.

Take Part In: Check out environmentally-themed displays and exhibits, take part in fun arts and crafts, and visit the City’s Environmental Services booth and that of local waste haulers, utility companies, and organizations with information and giveaways to help you adopt a “greener” lifestyle.

Take Home: Get your free garden mulch and used oil recycling kit. While supplies last, one member of each household in attendance may request a free oil recycling kit (funnel, shop towel and reusable container) and collect up to two large trash bags of mulch. Come prepared with your own tools and bags to collect and load the mulch onto your vehicle.

AQMD is located at 21865 Copley Drive. For more information, contact the City’s Environmental Services Division at 909.839.7012 or
