Mayor's Corner - September 2017

Mr. Jimmy Lin
by Mayor Jimmy Lin

Thank you to everyone that participated in the City’s summer festivities, enjoying excellent weather and no shortage of outdoor fun. The Concerts in the Park and Movies Under the Stars series was a great way for the community to come together and enjoy lively entertainment in the park, family friendly movies, and the annual National Night Out event. The events would not be a success if it wasn’t for your participation and the assistance of our staff and public safety partners.

Please remember that we have more great events planned throughout the autumn months. Mark your calendars for Diamond Bar Restaurant Week (DBRW) scheduled to take place Friday, October 6 – Friday, October 20, 2017. DBRW is aimed at celebrating and showcasing the numerous, diverse, and quality dining options in town. To view a list of restaurants signed up to participate and for additional details, please visit www.dbresturantweek.com. Also, the City’s second annual Barktoberfest Halloween-themed event for dogs and their owners is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9am – 1pm at Pantera Park, located at 738 Pantera Drive. For additional information, please contact Parks & Recreation at 909.839.7070.

The City also has exceptional facilities available for resident use.  The Diamond Bar Center is known for hosting recreation classes, special events and beautiful weddings, parties, and private events.  In addition to the Diamond Bar Center, the Heritage and Pantera Park Community Centers and picnic shelters are available to host a variety of private events.  For reservation information please contact Parks & Recreation at 909.839.7070.
