If out-of-town vacationing is in your plans this summer, the City of Diamond Bar encourages you to take advantage of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department free Vacation Check service.
This free service involves a Sheriff’s deputy or trained Volunteer on Patrol monitoring your property at least once a day while you are away.
As part of its courtesy property inspection, the uniformed Sheriff’s representative checks for unlocked windows or doors, evidence of possible forced entry, and any other suspicious activity.
To further protect your home while you are away, the Sheriff’s station suggests postponing delivery or having one of your neighbors pick up your mail or newspapers to prevent it from piling up; and installing exterior lights that operate on a dawn-to-dusk or timer function to create the illusion that you are home.
Submit request via the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station website, by calling the station at 909.595.2264 or in person at 21695 E. Valley Boulevard in Walnut.
